so, I got this for christmas. i'm about 20 hours in now, having alot of fun with it. i was skeptical about the classic controller (and have been since the wii first came out) but i must say, I couldn't imagine playing MH3 without it. it really just works. also it is very comfy and light, and came free with the game. so why the fuck not.
currently doing 3-star quests, now i have a choice of capturing a royal lud or going to kill a gobul. as a first time MH player, i have to say once you get over the initial "wtf is going on?" in the first hour or so, forging, gathering, hunting, capturing all become second nature.
not that there arent afew little annoyances - kind of annoying trying to grind for items that are placed seemingly at random, ie. spider webs from butterflies.. also a little annoying that in Moga Woods you can be attacked by pretty much anything while trying to collect fucking honey. I also think it would have been nice if it told you where items could be found (narrow it down to a certain level, at least!) so you had some idea, especially with the random placings of drops like i mentioned before. I spent ages looking for gluehoppers before.
Anyway, seems like a fun game that i can sink alot of time on. I haven't tried playing online yet either. When do you recommend giving it a try? that is, when should I be good enough to not be a liability online?
