Master System: Awesome games. Ugly cover art.

Now see, my story is kind of different; I was one of the 10% population who actually grew up with an SMS instead of the NES, so I was never into the old Nintendo games at all. It was always kind of surreal to me when I was 16, 17 or whenever when I got my first NES to play all these games that everyone before me had always ranted and raved about.

At left: The infamous Pro Wrestling.

I got to say, I always like the uniformed look for the SMS boxes had. Early NES boxes did the same thing but I was a fan of making my collection look neat and professional. I'm all for being creative and all but some of the boxes and artwork on early game covers looked out of place or just stuck out like a sore thumb.

I like the Genesis era striped boxes. Genesis, Sega CD, 32x, and Game Gear all had matching packaging for awhile, so cool.

Somehow, these used to scare the shit out of me when I was a kid. Actually, they still kind of do.

Anyone else?

I think it was mostly because of how you jumped forward with each step and suddenly WHAM a dead end and you're like "aaaaaaa" also the instantaneous traps shooting you about 10 floors down all of a sudden.

I never used to map out the dungeons in Phantasy Star. I still haven't beaten it yet. I think the two statements have a correlation to each other.

That's okay, I only beat it once I downloaded and printed all the maps of all the dungeons from the internet.

I don't even remember how well these things worked. I remember my neighbor had a Master System, with the gun and the glasses. I was envious as hell. Even back then, I wanted all gaming stuff, not just the NES that was more popular.

Man, that would be amazing. I have a rom for Space Harrier 3D, don't know why. But man, that would be some fun times.

Great game, side scrolling puzzle/plataformer with items or something. Go emulate it, or dig out your Sonic Compilation #31 disc, and it is probably included.

Final boss looks slick as hell yo.

I was wondering the same thing.

oops, my bad, always mix the two in terms of which games are exclusive to which one.

First things first, shit's awesome, imo. Still not strictly related because GameGear (though the two systems DID use the same hardware, more or less), though TecToy may have made a Master System port... for Brazil. If not, fanmade romhack port may exist for those with emulators or flashcarts.

Also, available on the following collections-
Sonic Gems Collection (Gamecube) - unlocked from start.
Sonic Adventure DX (Gamecube) - unlocked when you collect 110 Emblems, IIRC.
