Holy fuck, I came to the Genesis board with hopes that there was going to be a Hard Corps thread. And guess what? OP delivered.

Contra Hard Corps is the best Contra by a LONG shot. None of the other Contra titles even come close. One of the best games on the system for sure.

This was the first game to really get me into video games. Maybe the first I ever played, I don't remember.

They tried that with Vectorman, then canceled it because sega lately fails at reproducing good games, hence the reason why nobody ever talks about the newer editions of Sonic the Hedgehog rather referring to times past on the Genesis.

I'm sad to say it, but the Sega we knew when we were kids is dead, and we should just burn what it has become.

I could not agree more... sega sucks nowadays and I don't see hope of its revival... now if somebody bought the rights to Vectorman and redid it, there could be hope for it still...

I've actually played a physical copy of this at an acquaintance's house. Their family has so many video games it's crazy - a lot of the more obscure stuff.

I play around with the ROM every now and then. I still haven't figured out why people like shmups so much, so I don't get very far.

OP here of course. It's pretty fun. It's really hard in some parts though. It's kind of a platformer/puzzle game, since most of the game is just figuring out it's tricks.

Naw. But it looks like it has all the weird quirks that make Sega games the shit, so I'll have to check that out.
