Hi guys. I'm going to go ahead and admit I have no idea how to set up VBA Link WI-FI. My networking knowledge is very limited. Could any of you point me in the right direction?

Sonic Megamix.

Hack of Sonic 1 with elements from Sonic CD and Sonic 3 to name a few.

If you're a Sonic fan and haven't played this yet, go get it. If you have played it, discuss.

I like that they did a CD version, as that lets me play it on hardware for more-or-less free.

I probably haven't played it since a few versions ago though, should probably check it out again.

It gets progressively more unforgiving as you go on, but it's still fun when you're not about ready to bash the screen in. The extra content and added moves make it much better than the original slow-paced Sonic the Hedgehog.

This is great and the new version is looking pretty good so far. Shame about Tweaker though.

I think this is the best place to post this. Sorry if it isn't.

Are there any DS roms that actually work? Every time I try to play something, it doesn't work. I've tried a dozen different DS games and not been able to play a single one. Am I doing something wrong?

I've tried the highest rated emulators on Emulator Zone, with no luck. Is it the emulators? Is it the roms? Or is it me?

In other words, what do I have to do to play the Castlevania and Yu-Gi-Oh DS games on my computer?

Dunno if this guy is even still around, but AFAIK, no$GBA is the most complete emulator, doesn't need BIOS, and plays most games. You can find the latest version easily enough if you look, and it hasn't let me down yet. My biggest gripe with it is that I can't get it to NOT auto-trim saves, so I have to go through a lot of trouble to use nocash saves on my flashcard.

Jpcsp doesn't have external joypad support but still plays some games as long as they are hacked?
Pcsp does have joypad support but doesn't play anything?

WTF what happened to the days when you play anything on an emulator?
>> No. 89
Most people who want to play PSP games without paying for them just buy and hack a PSP. The emulators are still pretty early.
>> No. 91
Yea give it 10 or 20 years like we've done with NES, Genesis, and SNES emulators, and you might be able to run it just fine.

Then again, those are very simplistic emulators, any emulator that takes 3d models and formats them to work through a direct 3d/opengl input is going to be infuriatingly difficult to emulate properly.

This game was around awhile back but I only recently got a machine that could actually run it reliably. Since the time I last played it and now, it's been abandoned by it's creator and info and files for it have been scattered all over the internet.

Anyway, who's played it? What did you think? What are some episodes you like? I just beat Princess Cliche today, that boss was obnoxious but otherwise I enjoyed it. Working on the SMB 64 one now kind of. Lemme know if anyone needs hints on where to get files or whatever. Also be aware that the installer has one of those optional toolbar deals in it that some anti-malware tools may detect and bitch about. For security, I turned my internet connection off while installing, then let my tools clean the file it was complaining about, seems to work.

What DS flashkit/flashcard do you use? Are you a slot 1 guy? slot 2? Swing both ways?

I'm using an M3i with M3Real firmware. I'll probably pick up GBA flashcart soon.

R4 with wood R4.

Mostly rock slot 1 stuff, because I don't have much a need for slot-2 stuff, with GBA emulation not being shit. Though I wouldn't mind having one.
>> No. 83
I use just a regular R4 revolution for DS. Running Wood firmware, with a 2gb sd card in it. Have plenty of DS games and SNES/NES roms on there. The apps just arent worth running on it anymore (other than games/emulators) because I have an iPhone.

In about a week I will be getting a the Droid 2

I'll tell you guys what I think of the nes/snes/GBA emulators after I give that a try
>> No. 80
Meh, I guess it's pretty good. But some games lag hardcore, and the music gets all glitchy. Then again, I have one of the older models, so that might have something to do with it...

I have a Milestone/Droid 2. It runs up to the PS1 quite well.

Playing Crash 3 in it is nice once you get a good keyboard mapping.

For a long time now, I've been working on a pokemon hack. I'm "close" to done with the sprites, but work has slowed a lot with a team member disappearing and all. This image is an old mockup of the titlescreen. We still haven't picked a title for the damn thing.

Anyway the concept is that there will be about 251 catchable girls. Pokemon themselves will be nearly non-existent (some girls have a pokemon in their sprite, that's about it).

I'm making this thread for a few reasons. number one, I'd like to know who your absolute favorite girls from any type of pokemon media ever are, just in case I've missed some favorites. number two, maybe someone here would like to do some sprites to help out? I only need maybe 20 new sprites and some work done on a few more. number three, any features you'd absolutely like to see in a pokemon hack, within reason? the game it's starting from is leafgreen, i plan to make the encounters less repetitive, hopefully turn HMs into items, have a new female playable, maybe slight screwing with the storyline (but i doubt anything will ever make this premise make sense), and changing some of the boring caves into stuff like malls/stores/etc.

not to derail thread but anyone got a patch for moemon or touhoumon in english?

i've seen touhoumon english before but it always looked like they just swapped the touhoumon sprites into a regular game (ThMn has different movesets/wild battle locations etc)

I'd love to help spriting this, however i'd need some introduction to what tools to use. link for an interested spriter maybe?
>> No. 77
>>76

Would be great to have the help, sure. Tools is pretty much whatever you wanna use for doing the sprites with. Personally, I use Paint Shop Pro 7 as it boots quickly and does all the basic shit I need for pixel work.

All you really need to know for making sprites for this i that they need to be 64x64 in size and only have 16 colors including the background. You don't have to fill up the entire 64x64 box with girl though of course.

If you have any sprite work you've done before, post it in this thread and I'll take a look at it. Talk to me in IRC if you'd like, too.

Sometimes I set up all my common rom formats to use a cart icon from this guy's page: http://www.ix.sakura.ne.jp/~yoshi/icon/game/

I also tend to use his controller or console icons for my emulator shortcuts.
>> No. 43
download the evolution tools from the cyclods website (even if you don't have that type of card) and it will make it so that the actual icon for the game that shows up on the DS itself will be used in windows.

hey thats cool I wanna do that but.. cant figure out how to change the default iconf for the file types. Example:
blabla.nes looks like a blank sheet of paper
cant find how to change to NEScartridge.ico
(running win7 if it matters)
thanks in advance
