Feel free to post questions and comments, suggestions, complaints, anything like that about 199XChan itself here on this board.

We are just starting out here, I'm sure things will be slow and remain slow posting-wise for quite some time. So I've made this board to clear up any questions and nail down any technical issues I may have missed.

Feature/board suggestions are also welcome.

I'm welcome to ideas regarding how tog et more quality posters, of course. I don't really want to advertise in the traditional sense though.

Far as I am concerned the best way to get people is to just have good posting, which other than the daily spam attacks, we generally have here. So keep up the good work, I suppose.

I like the idea of this site, a lot. But you need to combine some of the boards so that they will be more populated and the site will gain popularity faster. For example, if you made a board just called /playstation/ that covered all ps consoles. /xbox/,/nintendo/,/pc/, and then from there /retro/, /general/, /wars/, and /other/. I think this would be better for the site over all and generate more discussion and liven up each of the boards. Also, you should try contacting some other popular game sites for some co-op advertising. (For example, try asking vgboxart.org if they put up an add/link for you, you'll put up one for them). I really want this site to become more active.

So how did you come to visit our fair imageboard? I'm curious to hear about how people are learning of 199XChan. I've done some very mild promoting in IRC channels, signatures on forums, and the Steam group. I assume most of you are being linked by friends or such. If you would like to inform me about how you came to post here, I'd be glad to hear about it. I don't really intend to do any sort of advertisement involving link sharing or paying for banner ads somewhere or anything like that, I figure if the board is good people will come naturally. But I am curious to hear your stories regarding this.

The new domain is now in place, and with that, little problems like certain mod controls and the banners not showing up are fixed as well.

THEREFORE, I am now officially accepting submissions for board banners, site banners, etc. Dimensions shall be 524x130. I'm not necessarily gonna use everything in this thread, but if I see ones I like I will add them. Me and the rest of the staff will make some ourselves too so don't be surprised if ones show up that aren't in this thread. Artistically, I prefer simplicity and official artwork, but anything you feel like putting together I'd be glad to take into consideration. So if you have a favorite board, why not try making a banner for it?

I'm thinking we need a minecraft server. I'm looking at http://www.multiplaygameservers.com service, it seems ok, I've heard a couple good reviews, and the pricing is reasonable.

I'm thinking 15 slot for 6 months, which is about 100 USD. I'd like to ask for donations to achieve this. This server will be a joint server with 151chan, I'll also be asking them to contribute. If you would like to donate for the server, stop by IRC and talk to me and we'll get it taken care of.

If anyone has another server rental place they'd like to suggest I'd also be willing to check it out.
